An image approved for a campaign may need more work before it becomes a large printed display. Fine lettering, product edges and material textures deserve attention when the image will be seen at a larger scale.
Clarity by GatherStar combines AI-assisted image enlargement with hands-on retouching for businesses, creative teams and production professionals. We assess your existing imagery, the details that matter and the intended output, then agree on a scope and quote before work begins.
Request an image assessment and quote
Start with the image you already have
You may have an approved product photograph, a rendered image or campaign artwork that needs to work beyond its original size. You may also have a print supplier asking for dimensions or a file specification you have not yet confirmed.
Share what you have and explain where the image will be used. A retail lightbox, poster and smaller printed piece can call for different decisions. We consider the source, target size and viewing conditions together rather than treating one pixel count as the answer for every project.
What the work can include
Image enlargement. We use AI-assisted upscaling as part of a workflow that considers your intended image size and use. We assess softness, rough edges and unnatural textures to identify where further attention is needed.
Fine-detail retouching. Lettering, logos, markers, edges and product structures are checked against your original files or supplied references. Material details such as metal finishes and fine textures can be included in the agreed retouching scope.
Output preparation. We agree on the files to be delivered for your project. Formats, color profiles and any support for physical print proofs are discussed in the quote. Printing costs are arranged separately.
The scope depends on the image. Increasing its pixel dimensions does not establish whether a product detail is correct. If the source does not show a letter, marking or structure clearly enough, we ask for references before deciding how to proceed.
A completed retail lightbox project
One watch project documented on our site began with a 10,000 × 10,000-pixel image and was delivered at 20,000 × 20,000 pixels. The project specified 300 PPI for a retail lightbox viewed from approximately one meter away.
Manual work after upscaling focused on the dial, metal edges and material textures. These are the specifications of that project, not a standard output package or a promise that every source can support the same enlargement. Your image and display requirements need their own assessment.
What to include in your brief
A useful inquiry tells us what needs to be preserved and what the finished image needs to do. Include the details you know:
- Intended use: the printed item, display or other application.
- Target size: physical dimensions, pixel dimensions or the supplier's specification.
- Source material: a preview or file-sharing link, plus original or layered files when available.
- Product references: approved lettering, logos and detail views that help us check accuracy.
- Priorities: the parts of the image that matter most, and anything that must remain unchanged.
- Deadline and quantity: your preferred delivery date and number of images.
We can assess .ai, .psb, .psd, .jpg and .tif files. You do not need to upload large source files to make an initial inquiry; a preview link and a description are enough to start the conversation. Mention confidentiality requirements before sharing sensitive material.
From assessment to delivery
First, we review your assets, intended use and priorities. We then agree on the retouching scope, pricing, deliverables and revision rounds.
The production stage combines upscaling and manual retouching, with review focused on the agreed areas. Adjustments follow that scope. We prepare the final files in the agreed format, with any support for physical print proofs arranged in advance.

Before you request a quote
Is this a self-service image upscaler?
This is an assessed image service with hands-on retouching. Sending an inquiry starts a conversation about your assets and requirements. Scope and pricing are agreed before production begins.
Can I start with a JPG or an unknown print size?
Yes. Tell us where the image will appear and share the files available. We can discuss dimensions and viewing distance together. Whether the image is suitable depends on the source and the required result.
How are price and delivery timing decided?
The quote considers source quality, manual retouching work, target size, image count and deadline. Include your preferred delivery date so it can be considered alongside the scope.
Can retouching replace a new 3D render?
Existing approved imagery at a fixed angle may be worth assessing for a larger output. A new angle, a product design change or 3D animation requires a different production approach.
Does the service include lightbox printing?
Our work focuses on image processing and file delivery. Printing costs are separate. Discuss the print supplier's requirements and any proof support before the quote is agreed.
